Cheapest 256mb CF type 1 you will find |
I do beleive that this is a product that will work with everything as mine has been in 4 different peoples cameras in the space of 2 months and has worked great in all of them. You wont get 256MB cheaper any where else that i have seen and this is 12X capable, do not beleive others that say it is slow ! IT IS NOT SLOW ! the only thing to slow down your camera writing to CF cards is the cameras internal memory buffer. There is not much else you can say about a CF flash card apart from that yes it is reliable, well boxed, good value and that I would buy further products from Viking in the future.

Bargain price for large storage space |
Ive just bought two of these for use with my Canon EOS D30 camera, and was very pleased to find that each can store 66 RAW (high quality, large, uncompressed) images, about 190 high-res JPEGS, and over 600 low res images! Woo!Other reviews have mentioned that the card is fast, but Ive found that it seems a bit sluggish with my camera. I havent done any exhaustive testing, but this was observed whilst downloading the entire camera buffer (either 4 RAW images, or 14 JPEGs) and took a while before it was back up and ready to shoot again. One thing to note - the two cards I received appeared to be manufactured using different components, so there may even be performance differences between the two cards from the same manufacturer!....

Vital digital camera accessory |
I bought this because I knew the 32MByte card that came with my Canon A80 would be almost useless. Whats the point of spending 100s on a camera and being restricted to a handful of photos? If youre buying a camera that uses the CF format, youd do well to consider a card from this range, because the supplied cards invariably seem too small. Like another reviewer, I was concerned that at this price the quality might be lacking, but it works perfectly and provides ample storage. As a bonus, Im now able to use the 32MByte card that came with the camera as a portable backup for vital files -- much more pocket-sized than the USB pen drive I had before! (however, you obviously need a card reader to a CF card as general storage in this way).
